Brief Description

Hartley Boats make sailing dinghies which are shipped world-wide. We are a small family run business with over 25 years’ experience in boat building. We are looking to recruit a team member with a can-do attitude to train and pass on skills to help in their development/training and to enhance our team in our shop.

Qualifications Required

GCSE in Maths and English at a Grade 4/C or above

Personal Qualities

Keen to learn with a can-do, friendly and approachable personality.

Skills Required

Good with hands and a keen to learn attitude.

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard
Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Future Prospects

The position could lead to a full-time position within the business on successful completion of apprenticeship and further promotion as experience is gained. In time it could lead to a management position.

Vacancy Detail

Working in our shop helping customers both face-to-face and on the telephone to take orders and help with queries. Dealing with internet orders, invoicing and packing orders to post to customers world-wide. Needs to be motivated to help achieve monthly target and bonus.
Ordering goods from suppliers to maintain stock levels in shop and fulfil internet orders, booking in goods received, stock control, help to maintain our web-site to ensure that all information is up to date and accurate. Post social media marketing updates to customers to promote events and offers.
Full training will be given and it is not essential to have a knowledge of sailing, what is important is an enthusiasm to learn, a pleasant personality and a can-do attitude and a willingness to help our customers to have a pleasant experience whilst visiting our shop.
