Vacancy Detail

As a Hairdressing Apprentice at Ego Hair, you will become part of an independently owned, employed salon team with shared standards and a genuine commitment to long-term development. Your Level 2 apprenticeship will combine real salon experience with the required apprenticeship training. During the early stages, the focus will be on learning the professional foundations properly. As your confidence and ability grow, you will begin developing practical hairdressing skills on training heads, models and, when appropriate, supervised clients.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Welcoming clients, preparing gowns and refreshments, and helping create a warm, professional salon experience.
• Shampooing, conditioning and carrying out backwash duties as your training progresses.
• Preparing styling stations, tools, equipment and products for services.
• Supporting stylists during appointments and observing consultations, cutting, colouring and finishing work.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, laundry, stock organisation and general salon presentation.
• Answering telephone calls and supporting bookings and client enquiries when trained to do so.
• Completing Level 2 learning, practical work, portfolio evidence and off-the-job training.
• Practising cutting, styling, colouring and consultation skills using training heads and models.
• Taking part in structured salon development sessions led mainly by Suzanne and supported by Ego's senior team once the essential foundations are established.
• Building the reliability, communication, teamwork and professional standards needed for a successful career behind the chair.
The successful candidate will not be expected to arrive with developed technical skills. We are looking for genuine enthusiasm, reliability, resilience and a willingness to listen, practise and improve. There is one position because we want to give the successful apprentice meaningful time, attention and investment.
