Brief Description

Training to be Provided
Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship standard
Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release. The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.
Future Prospects
There may be the opportunity to secure a permanent role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. This role can also provide a pathway into further training, including Higher Level Teaching Assistant or teacher training.
Vacancy Detail
As an apprentice at Thringstone Primary School, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help children learn, develop and thrive.
No two days are the same. You will be supporting learning in the classroom, working with small groups, and helping to create a calm, positive environment where children can succeed.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Supporting children’s learning in class and through small group work
• Assisting the teacher in delivering lessons and preparing resources
• Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes
• Supporting children’s social, emotional and communication development
• Observing and contributing to children’s progress
• Assisting with routines such as transitions, playtimes and organisation
As part of the apprenticeship, you will:
• Work towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Receive structured training alongside your role
• Apply your learning directly in a classroom setting
Other Information
• This is a physically active role, involving being on your feet for most of the day
• The role involves working closely with children, including those with additional needs
• Term time only working pattern
