Brief Description

An Exciting opportunity has become available at JB Engineering (Hatton) Ltd. We offer a unique learning experience, operating various engineering departments under Laser and Engineering. These departments provide a wide range of engineering services and experiences. Covering CAD modelling, Laser profiling, Metal forming, Welding and Fabrication.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (Apprentices lacking these qualifications must gain them before taking the end point assessment.)

Personal Qualities

• Willing to learn
• Be motivated
• Good communication skills, especially listening.

Skills Required

• Completed level 3 1st year or 2nd on a full-time course.
• Completed level 2 Engineering Operative
• Able to work well as part of a team
• Excellent communicator

Training to be Provided

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Future Prospects

Possibility of a full-time post upon completing the apprenticeship.

As an apprentice at JB Engineering your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Housekeeping. Maintaining your work area.
• Shadowing your supervisor, you are supervised whilst learning.
• Learning in action, practice welding.
• Carrying out all Health and safety procedures.
The Welder fabricator is primarily responsible for manufacturing customer orders using their welding and fabrication skills.
• Record learning

Other Information

Other skill experiences on this apprenticeship include milling, drilling, polishing, metal forming, preparation, and finishing processes. Working as a team and managing projects.
