Brief Description

A rare opportunity has become available to join a small family run/orientated niche nursery. Working in a small team of 5, we provide care for children from the ages of 12months to age 5 with a small school wrap around provision. We are seeking a person who has a desire to provide the upmost care and professionalism for our children.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (Apprentices lacking these qualifications must gain them before taking the end point assessment.)

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard
Level 1 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Future Prospects

Upon completion of an apprenticeship at level 2, there will be the opportunity to progress to Level 3.
On completion of a level 3 apprenticeship (or level 3 standalone studies), there is a further opportunity to progress to Degree Level.

Vacancy Detail

Our setting is quite unique and is set in the grounds of the owner’s home. The Nursery building is completely self-contained which means that we operate independently but within the grounds of domestic premises.

We have a proven track record of employing Apprentices and developing their skills and retaining those team members who show a passion and commitment for our setting. The candidate must be able to travel to Shobnall, area of Burton on Trent.

Duties to include:

1) To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
2) To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
3) To help ensure the setting always meets Ofsted requirements.
4) To undertake additional tasks such as cleaning duties of the rooms within the setting
5) To assist with mealtimes and the principles of helping children to establish a healthy diet.
6) To understand and work to the setting’s policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
7) To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes.
8) To be a key person.
9) To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily observations, accident and incident recordings, risk assessments and nappy changing/sleep routine records.
10) To work alongside other team members to learn from and strengthen knowledge to be able to include such learning as part of the apprenticeship programme.
11) To work in partnership with senior team members to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.
12) To assist in any other tasks that are required of the setting to ensure the wellbeing of all is highly maintained.

Must be able to travel to Shobnall area of Burton on Trent (applicants need to consider possible bus routes and the possible times of start and finish of shifts 7.30am – 6pm and how this would practically work in relation to your home).
