Are you interested in machines, engineering, and ready to kickstart your career? Join our team as an Apprentice Mechatronic Engineer and learn from the best! You will be mentored by Jake, our lead engineer, who started his journey as an apprentice at the age of 16 and will support you as you embark on your own apprenticeship!

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (Apprentices lacking these qualifications must gain them before taking the end point assessment.)

Personal Qualities

• Enthusiastic, hands-on candidates with a passion for learning
• Interest in machinery, engineering, or tinkering with equipment.
• Ability to work at heights.

Skills Required

Knowledge of design techniques and tools. Knowledge of production processing and analytical thinking.

Training to be Provided

Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard
Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Future Prospects

Possibility of a full-time role upon completion of the apprenticeship and subject to overall performance.

Premier Nutrition - AB Agri, are offering an Apprentice Mechatronic Engineer opportunity where you will become a multi-skilled professional, learning how to work with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, electrical systems, and mechanics. This hands-on role involves fixing machines at our Rugeley site, with occasional work at Fradley. You’ll also be working at heights, so confidence in that environment is essential. You will spend 4 days per week onsite and1 day per week at college.

What You'll Learn:
• Hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and electrical and mechanical systems
• Troubleshooting and repairing machinery
• Working on innovative automation projects to improve our business operations.

Programme Structure:
• A four-year apprenticeship programme with day release to college one day per week
• Three and a half years of practical learning, followed by a six-month endpoint assessment.
• Start on-site before the January college intake if you're eager to begin.

Other Information

The role will involve working indoors and outdoors, will on occasions include lifting heavy objects, (always a two person lift if heavy) and working at height.
