Brief Description

Hewitt Robins International is seeking an Apprentice Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design Team at our Measham site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a determined and enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn and develop their skills in a technical environment.

Qualifications Required

A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade 4 or above.

A prior Level 3 qualification in a relevant field to engineering (for example A-Level, T-Level, Apprenticeships in Engineering Technician, Engineering Fitter, etc).

Training to be Provided

Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship standard
Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Vacancy Detail

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Work alongside the Engineering Design Team and collaborate with the wider workforce.
2. Participate in up to 20% off-the-job training, including attending college at allocated times throughout the year.
3. Complete daily on-the-job training while performing day-to-day tasks.
4. Gain hands-on experience in the assembly, manufacture, build, and design of equipment used in the quarrying and mining industry.
5. Assist in the development and improvement of existing products and processes.
6. Contribute to engineering design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
7. Take part in problem-solving activities and provide technical support when required.
8. Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
