Brief Description

The Apprentice will provide support to the Finance team across purchase and sales ledgers. As a member of the Finance team, the postholder will be diligent about their work and with an eye for detail.

The role is based at Henhurst Primary Academy, Branston in Burton on Trent.

Qualifications Required

5 x GCSE’s at Grades A-C or 9 – 4 (Essential must include English and Maths) or equivalent.

Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant apprenticeship standard

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Vacancy Detail

Duties to include but not limited to:
1. Receiving and processing of supplier invoices onto the trust finance system
2. Support with preparing of supplier payment runs for trust suppliers
3. General finance admin to include scanning and archiving of documentation and dealing with post

Specific Accountabilities
4. Assist in processing of supplier invoices onto the finance system and obtaining relevant budgetary authorisation for payment in line with the scheme of delegation
5. Prepare supplier payment runs for the trust as per the published time table
6. Reconciling supplier statements to the accounting software and resolving any issues
7. Be a first point of contact for suppliers and internal customers to resolve queries
8. Distribute internal sales invoices & statements to academies within the trust
9. Assist in resolving sale invoice queries with internal colleagues
10. Undertakes any other reasonable duties as may be required commensurate with the level of the post



Other Information

The role will commence on £4.81 ph (annual salary of c£9,400). Following completion of a successful 6 month probation period, and satisfactory progression within the apprenticeship role we would look to increase to £6.83ph (annual salary of £13,335).

This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
