Brief Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Hairdressing Apprentice to work in an established busy salon, in Littleover.

Qualifications Required

GSCE’s or equivalent at grades C/4 and above for Maths and English are desirable

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Hair Professionals apprenticeship standard Hairdressing or Barbering
Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release. The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Future Prospects

To develop skills further as a stylist and progress to a level 3 qualification.

Vacancy Detail

As an apprentice in a busy salon, you must be constantly alert and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to work up to four days in the salon and one day at college working towards your NVQ hairdressing qualification. As apprentice hairdresser you will learn all aspects of the hairdressing and working in a busy salon, which include but not limited to:
• Shampooing
• Blow drying
• Customer service
• Reception
• Tidying and sweeping
• Mixing and applying colours and assisting the stylists in the salon
• Cutting and styling
• Stock taking

Other Information

Working hours to start at 30 hours per week, potentially increasing to 38.25 hours per week.

An hour for lunch when working a full day.
