Fantastic opportunity for a hairdressing apprentice to join our friendly team in Burton-on-Trent. Our salon prides itself with 30 years experience in the industry and excels in high levels of customer service.

Training to be Provided
Level 2 Hair Professionals apprenticeship standard Hairdressing or Barbering
Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.? The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.
Future Prospects
A permanent position is not guaranteed at the end of your apprenticeship, however should a position become available, and we feel you are suitable for this, we will discuss this further.

Knowledge:
? Basic understanding of the hairdressing industry and of changing fashions and trends would be nice but not essential
? General knowledge of the maintenance of a hair salon

Customer service:
? Greeting guests and visitors to the salon, as well as handling enquiries by telephone
? Playing a part in preparing the client ready for their service, including: refreshments, magazines, gowns and general comfort
? Ensuring client is happy, comfortable and informed throughout their visit
Training:
? Extra in salon Training and in salon assessment days will be done in your own time
? Providing suitable training models when requested and having them on call if needed
Salon operations: (Training Given)
? Keep salon tidy at all times, maintain cleanliness of the cutting and colouring stations, removing hair and cleaning mirrors, tidying away tools and products, cleaning product stands and shelving, backwash areas and bathrooms and kitchen
? Making sure reception is clean and tidy no clutter, washing/drying towels and gowns
? Checking in clients when they arrive for their appointments, taking bills, booking appointments using the computerised system (Training will be given)
? Making refreshments for clients
? Answering the telephone
? Performing skin testing prior to chemical services
? Wearing required personal protective equipment and other Health and Safety procedures
? Assisting stylists with preparing clients for and during the service being provided, this may include, shampooing, removing colours, passing up during hi lighting
? Keeping a positive salon atmosphere
? Promoting Ego Hair Salon and its brand principles
? Attendance at salon activities in and out of the salon

Requires long periods of standing.
