Brief Description

Do you love cooking and are you willing to learn? If so this is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice cook in a busy tearoom with takeaway service, learning the art of short order cooking along with the creation of baked goods and celebration cakes.

Qualifications Required

GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C) in English and maths, or equivalent qualifications.

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship standard
Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.? The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Learn how to use local produce and time honoured recipes
Work with experienced staff to learn how to cook and bake from scratch to a high standard and with speed
Invent dishes to come within budgetary controls, portion control with attractive presentation
Adhere to food hygiene practices, keeping the required documentation as required, along with organising of work area and cleanliness
Achieve good communication with work colleagues and customers
Creation of cakes, pastries and celebration cakes will be taught various bespoke orders through website, social media and visiting customers.
