Brief Description

An excellent opportunity for a keen and enthusiastic apprentice to join a busy manufacturer based in Ashby de la Zouch. The warehouse is a vital part of the business, which means that hard-working warehouse operatives with good abilities are essential.

Qualifications Required

Preferred Maths and English at grade 4/C and above,or equivalent or willingness to work towards.

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard
Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.? The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

Vacancy Detail

Main duties to include:
Carrying out, observing, learning and understanding a wide range of warehouse/production activities, skills and processes, whilst under the instruction of skilled staff.
To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training progresses by working independently or part of a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
Using a range of power, hand tools and material handling equipment.
Working safely within an engineering environment
To undertake and successfully complete college courses throughout the training period, achieving the academic grades and practical skills, leading to the award of a level 2 Qualification in Lean Manufacturing.
To maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects undertaken and skills learned.
To maintain a smart appearance and act in a professional manner at all times on or off the workplace.
Maintain Health and Safety Standards as required by the Company Health & Safety At Work Policy and Procedures document.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.

Sales Order Production
Process sales orders through stores, production and despatch, as required by the QMS processes and work instructions provided, completing sales order and QMS data documentation as required.

Assembly of production orders to finished product.
Test equipment as required
Despatch items to customer as indicated on despatch documentation.

Items for repair or credit:
Process customer?s equipment returned for repair and/or credit through stores and production, as required by the QMS processes and work instructions provided, completing repair/credit QMS data documentation as required.

Goods Receipt
The processing of goods received, as required by the QMS processes and completing QMS data documentation as required, using materials handling equipment.

General
Maintain a tidy workstation and workshop area.

Other Information

Lots of standing, lifting.

Starting wage is ?5.50 per hour for your first year, increasing to the National Minimum Wage for your age thereafter.

Holiday entitlement is 20 days plus Bank Holidays per year.

Your apprenticeship will start immediately in Company and attending College will start September 2021.
